The heart of the watch is the light-powered Eco-Drive movement, the technology that made Citizen famous. A photovoltaic cell hidden beneath the dial converts any light source — the sun as well as household light — into energy, which is stored in an internal reserve. The result is a watch that needs no periodic battery replacement: simply expose it to light and it keeps running, day after day, with the precision typical of Citizen quartz.
